I have a Jewish in-law who is adamantly pro Trump in an extended family of mostly Democratic Jews. We all have an unspoken rule not to talk politics around this guy. His overriding issue is Israel; he only supports politicians who are wholeheartedly pro Israel and rabidly anti Muslim (he actually refers to Obama as “Hussein”). Nothing else matters to him. I will never understand how he is willing to embrace fascism here in return for support of a country he’s never even lived in. BTW, his brother is even worse; he was a proud member of the Trump administration.

republicans in my family. My grandfather, a rabid socialist and union organizer during the 1920s & 1930s, would roll over in his grave should ANY of his descendants even consider voting for that "party."

We DO have a few big 'pro-Israel' family members, but fortunately they recognize that Israel is not always perfect. Nonetheless, they always refrain from making any kind of negative remarks about Israel. I know for a fact how disturbed they (WE) are about so many in this country who claim it is a "Christian nation." I find the nutcases who latch onto that notion much more dangerous to democracy than some stray terrorists in the West Bank.
