"SNIP......
An Axios analysis shows the moderate candidate won 14 of 22 congressional primaries this year, when a progressive candidate challenged a more moderate candidate in seats Dems can win.
Thats almost two-thirds of the time.

(9,120 posts)You have cases like Cuellar where the Establishment came in and threw national money at the conservative to make sure the progressive went down.
That sort of thing matters. Power is not dislodged easily.
Wonder what the dollar numbers look like.

(24,610 posts)The middle doesn't really exist. There's the far right - moderate right - moderate left - far left. But why don't I know any far left intellectuals and analysts? Because they are all in moderately left. We have no one flinging monkey shit like new Republican Party.

(7,873 posts)But they are still very much progressive, or at least vote with us when it matters most (a few do not, but you already know their names).
Also, Fetterman beat the odds by being the hardcore progressive that beat the moderate. You know why, in part, I think that was? He wasn't focused on attacking his fellow Democrats like some on the hardcore left think they need to do. He was mostly attacking REPUBLICANS and stating what he was for. More hardcore progressives should do that instead of attacking good Democrats and trying to slur them as some sort of corrupted corporatist blah blah blah.
