Trumps team has discussed strategies that involve shifting blame from Trump to his advisors for the efforts to overturn the election.
By Susie Madrak August 1, 2022
Trumps lawyers are preparing a legal defense against possible criminal charges from the Justice Department, reportedly anxious that he will be prosecuted for his role in the attempt to overturn the 2020 election. Via Rolling Stone:
That effort intensified after former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinsons June testimony before the House committee investigating Jan. 6.
Members of the Trump legal team are quietly preparing, in the event charges are brought, says one person familiar with the situation. It would be career malpractice not to. Do the [former] presidents attorneys believe everything Cassidy said? No Do they think the Department of Justice would be wise to charge him? No. But weve gotten to a point where if you dont think criminal charges are at least somewhat likely, you are not serving the [former] presidents best interests.
Strategies under discussion? Blame someone else. Sounds like they'd try to pin it all on Rudy Giuliani and John Eastman:
Oh, and his legal team knows they're going to need a big name if he's charged:
I hear Alan Dershowitz is moping around Martha's Vineyard with nothing to do...

Trump 2 times:
"Can you just find me 11,780 votes?"
"Just say that there is doubt about the results because big things are gonna happen on Jan. 6th."
Graham:
Asking the Sec. of State to "set aside" all the mail in votes from Fulton, County.
If I called you and asked you to rob the Central Bank on 123 Smith Street tomorrow @
2 PM that would be a felony and both Trump and Graham deserve a public trial for doing
the same sort of thing in their calls to Georgia.

(23,297 posts)He doesn't listen and he doesn't pay. That leaves out any law firm that could actually have a chance of winning his case. So he will lose, they will get the blame and not get paid, and will only get negative coverage.
