Most likely.

(148,692 posts)His original words were in German, of course. Snopes confirms this:

So, if MTG said that, she is quoting the meme, and thus quoting Hiltler.

(41,617 posts)"It's true that Hitler said this in 1928. The original quote was slightly longer than what has appeared in memes. At the same time, history showed that Hitler's National Socialist Movement later sought to destroy Christianity once in power. Citing evidence from the Nuremberg war-crime trials, The New York Times reported that, "the Nazis simply lied and made deals with the churches while planning a 'slow and cautious policy of gradual encroachment' to eliminate Christianity."

(3,202 posts)believe that they will get rid of all the Jews, blacks, browns, Asians and all others deemed not worthy to be in the US. Good fucking luck with that.
And, if I'm not mistaken, they also believe that as christians we're supposed to protect Israel until Jesus drops outta the sky so he can kill all the Jews because they didn't prevent his death and don't recognize him as lord and savior. Pffft!
Then, 144,000 good ol' American christians get to rapture and spend eternity with Jerry Falwell and his ilk. Sorry, no thanx!
I don't believe any of that bullshit but, I think that's the gist of what they're shooting for.

(18,358 posts)it just feeds the RW talking points about how the democratics are full of **it.
We need to check our sources if the stuff reported seems too "ripe".
And Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., is unequivocally stating, We need to be the party of nationalism. Im a Christian, and I say it proudly; we should be Christian nationalists; (She is, of course, merely paraphrasing Adolf Hitler, who in 1928 said, We tolerate no one in our ranks who attacks the ideas of Christianity. Our movement [the Nazi party] is Christian.)
Caliman73
(11,767 posts)There is still a distinction that needs to be made.
I completely understand that Republicans are sounding more and more like literal Nazis, but again, when we start putting out information that we know is not true, then we are putting out lies.
We do not have to lie to show how horrible and extreme Republicans are becoming.
muriel_volestrangler
(103,263 posts)"Fake" is a pejorative word. We have the Hitler speech with "this movement of ours is actually Christian"; we have Taylor Greene's "We need to be the party of nationalism and Im a Christian, and I say it proudly, we should be Christian nationalists", and "Republicans need to prove to the American people that we are the party of American nationalism and Christian nationalism". The meaning is there; the OP is not "full of shit", as you claim.

(18,358 posts)restatement of Hitler's quote, and even better supplied a link or two to mjt's and her boyfriend hitler's utterances it would have avoided all of this discussion.
I also think DU should have more categories about why we object to a post.

(23,720 posts)A meme that appeared in several public Facebook posts (and likely quite a few private postings as well) also attributed that statement to Greene, as if she were echoing Hitlers exact words. However, we found no record of Greene repeating Hitlers statement about Christianity.

Snopes.com could not match up the Christian quotes cited here and ruled the comparison false. That said, Greene comes close. In fact, what she has said includes this rather startling comment: "We need to be the party of nationalism. And Im a Christian and I say it proudly: We should be Christian nationalists. And when Republicans learn to represent most of the people that vote for them, then we will be the party that continues to grow without having to chase down certain identities or chase down, you know, certain segments of people."
