Madame Speaker will go down in the history books as one of the finest leaders over several generations. She doesn't back off, she doesn't take guff and she upholds American principles, even when the going gets tough.

I suspect that Nancy Pelosi had a back room agreement with POTUS. He would reject the visit in public while Madame Speaker embraced Taiwan with a diplomatic visit despite China's objections.
