Although I do know (fairly) reasonable people that think we need more political parties. But as a practical matter - and with attention trained on today's toxic political stew - the idea strikes me as foolish at best, and tending toward a more corrosive aim of destruction. And do we really need any clearer illustration of rank folly - than that provided by recent history?

(There are true 'believers' out there - both left and right - that think that we need to burn it all down - presumably so we can all 'start afresh' - when the planet is a smoldering ember. I've always thought I'd prefer to take my chances - with the people that knew something about how to run a government.)
