(81,260 posts)They ARE the "American Taliban," in terms of the way they see women - as vassals and second-class objects. Not really on an equal footing even as plain ol' humans.
THANK YOU, Walleye!
"This is what the American Taliban calls the right to choose." That's EXACTLY what they have in mind. We women have a "right to choose" as THEY define it, a "right" with VERY few options, if indeed any options at all. And if THEY feel like it, on any random day.

(33,343 posts)It would be great if people couldn't get that out of their heads when they hear "republican" or "election".

(111,255 posts)is not a viable one. That means it will not progress to a birth. It will rupture, and the woman has a good chance of bleeding out and dying from it if it is not ended.
Any doctor who refuses to treat this in a timely manner might escape an overzealous DA but he won't escape a lawsuit, a huge one.
Docs are in a terrible position. Having Biden spell out the law covering emergency care gave them some cover.
My guess that there were few docs in Kansas who voted for that amendment. I think they're dimly realizing that religious intrusion into civil goverrnment is a really, really bad idea.

Which is fine with me but if they go by gods will....
They keep wanting it both ways.

(28,075 posts)That the right wing trolls are pushing the meme that ending an ectopic pregnancy isn't abortion because it's not viable and not in the uterus.
Anything to try to sound less extreme.

(82,849 posts)However, their opinion doesn't mean squat-ah to a zealous prosecuting attorney who has his eye on the state attorney general's office. These dimwits will argue - seriously - that an ectopic pregnancy can be surgically removed from the fallopian tube and implanted into the uterus. It can't, but they'll argue that. They might even convince some hammer-headed state court judge that they're right, even though they aren't.
And some poor woman (if she survives the ordeal) will have to wait to see if biology or boneheadedry carries the day, and whether she goes to prison.

(28,075 posts)If an embryo isn't viable until it's "in the uterus", why do so many of them oppose the morning after pill and IUDs?
Consistency is not their strong suit.
