Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIs Alex Jones now a major threat to flip on all those who were involved in Jan 6th?
And is he in danger from others, or to himself? The can of worms has maybe been opened.

(38,556 posts)if he doesn't, he could wind up behind bars as a conspirator?
Gee. You know, I'm finding it a little difficult to feel sorry for his dilemma.

(86,591 posts)To anyone, at this point, is that he has unwittingly exposed everyone in his phone records. Anything he has to actually say with his mouth should be taken as the rantings of a pathological liar.
That he was an integral component of the coup attempt with video proof along with the phone records, is enough to show his guilt.
Besides, he could be preoccupied with perjury problems in the near future.
While I have long considered Jones a significant part of the maga threat to democracy, the trial has been the most that I've actually listened to him. So I contacted someone more familiar with his being and thus his tactics. I asked if he was "acting" while he testified? My friend said no, that he was always an odd guy. That while he had opposed the Bush wars, the Oklahoma City bombing sent him over the edge. And that while he was a "showman" on his site, he has declined mentally over the years, which has made his having any platform a threat to democracy.
I think in the hearings after the jury returns its verdict, both Jones and his lawyer may face consequences from this judge. I've been very impressed with her.

(9,670 posts)Are an absolute treasure trove of damning information, I would imagine. 2-3 years of text messages with the likes of Roger Stone and perhaps even TFG will provide another roadmap for prosecutors to follow.
I have a feeling this will be HUGE.
He's useless but his records will speak volumes.

(22,794 posts)eventually materialized into the "Stop the Steal" rally on January 6, according to the grassroots organizer who filed the permits...He agreed to pay for a percentage of the event and I was to try and find someone to help with the funding gap, Chafian said of her agreement with Jones. He connected me with Caroline M. Wren because there was somebody that she knew who wanted to help contribute to the event...Jones, the Journal reported citing a funding document, offered upwards of $50,000 of his own money for a 'top speaking slot of his choice'."

Alex travels all afternoon with Ali Alexander, architect of Stop the Steal. #SeditionVIPs Michael Coudrey and Jason Jones, both connected with Ali, arrived separately and pre-positioned on the north balcony, then followed Alex down the stairs and joined up with his group. 8/

Oh, here's an interesting Erik Prince connection. Ex-Blackwater goons were there as bodyguards:

Alexs bodyguards, many ex-Blackwater, wrap up the day with a rooftop photograph. We marked Tim Enlow - he's a public figure as the first TX policeman ever fired for racial profiling. Ex-Army, + 8 years as a security contractor in Iraq & Afghanistan. 12/

Alexs men are proud to show their Blackwater connection. Here they are on Jan 5th in the Willard Hotel posing with ex-Blackwater guard Paul Slough, convicted for killing Iraqi civilians, then pardoned by Trump on Dec. 22, just 2 weeks before. 14/

Jones is no mastermind, but he was in the thick of it. His phone is a treasure trove that must have gobs of people sweating bullets now, and I am so here for it.

What a long, strange trip this has been, if the ultimate downfall of Trump and his cabal comes at the hands of a blowhard, ignorant Internet snake oil salesman.
