Remember this story?

From Nov 24, 2020 - two weeks after the election.

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/11/24/kash-patel-pentagon-transition-440293

Kash Patel, a White House loyalist who was installed at the Pentagon two weeks ago amid a purge of senior civilian officials, has been put in charge of the Defense Department’s transition to the next administration, a Pentagon spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday.

The news, first reported by CNN, comes one day after the General Services Administration allowed the Trump administration to begin talking with the incoming Biden team to begin the transition process.

Background: Patel was named chief of staff to acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller just two weeks ago, the day after the president fired Defense Secretary Mark Esper. His former chief of staff, Jen Stewart, resigned shortly after. Trump allies were also installed in top positions overseeing intelligence and policy.

Stewart was leading the transition effort before she left the Pentagon, so it was expected that Patel would take over those responsibilities.

Before he went to Dept. of Defense he was Devin Nunes' aide for a while, where he wrote the "Nunes Memo."
He has always been a ChumpHumper, that's all we know.

4. Yes. I also remember how the transition was stonewalled by Emily Murphy at GSA.

DOD hides behind GSA foot-dragging:

https://insidedefense.com/insider/dod-holding-biden-transition | Nov 9 2020

The Defense Department has had no contact with the Biden transition team and will not until the Government Services Administration greenlights the process, according to a Pentagon official.

At present, the results of the election are still being disputed by President Trump and the GSA has not yet signed the paperwork necessary to begin the process to transition to President-elect Joe Biden's new administration.

"DOD is following statutory direction for supporting a potential presidential transition directly in accordance with the President Transition Act," the Pentagon official said. "The Act requires ascertainment of the candidate to receive transition assistance by the administrator of GSA. That has not occurred and is not a DOD responsibility. . . . DOD has had no contact with transition teams from either campaign and will not until notified by the GSA Administrator."

A Trump administration appointee is refusing to sign a letter allowing President-elect Joe Biden’s transition team to formally begin its work this week, in another sign the incumbent president has not acknowledged Biden’s victory and could disrupt the transfer of power.

The administrator of the General Services Administration, the low-profile agency in charge of federal buildings, has a little-known role when a new president is elected: to sign paperwork officially turning over millions of dollars, as well as give access to government officials, office space in agencies and equipment authorized for the taxpayer-funded transition teams of the winner.

It amounts to a formal declaration by the federal government, outside of the media, of the winner of the presidential race.

But by Sunday evening, almost 36 hours after media outlets projected Biden as the winner, GSA Administrator Emily Murphy had written no such letter. And the Trump administration, in keeping with the president’s failure to concede the election, has no immediate plans to sign one. This could lead to the first transition delay in modern history, except in 2000, when the Supreme Court decided a recount dispute between Al Gore and George W. Bush in December.

But the GSA as a whole has not explained the decision to refuse to recognize Biden, despite the fact that it is supposed to be an apolitical decision, simply facilitating the will of voters across the country. Murphy, too, has yet to comment publicly about her failure to acknowledge Biden’s win in the presidential election. Transition officials for Biden have called on the Trump administration appointee to end what they are calling an unwarranted obstruction, but Murphy still won’t budge, reports The New York Times. [snip]

It should also be noted that Murphy’s actions are completely unprecedented: Past GSA administrators have typically issued a letter of ascertainment within hours of the election being called so that the incoming administration can get to work setting up a new government. Even with legal challenges and recounts, every other presidential race for the past 60 years has formally determined the winner within 24 hours. It’s already been almost two weeks.

Emily Murphy finally signed the letter of ascertainment on November 23. Jerk.

he was promoted to general around that time - Nov/Dec 2020. Just in time for J6, it seems.

eta - Meanwhile, no telling what Kash Patel was getting up to in the DOD. Good grief. I also recall there was a purge going on.

https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/a34632624/trump-purge-defense-department-after-rejecting-election-result/

But all that may pale in comparison to the president's move to purge the Department of Defense this week—again, while simultaneously rejecting the results of the democratic election he lost. He fired the Secretary of Defense, Mark Esper, and passed over many candidates in the line of succession to haul Christopher Miller, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, into the big time. One wonders why he might have been chosen. So, too, with the new Pentagon chief of staff, Kash Patel, "a former Devin Nunes staffer who worked to discredit the Russia investigation," according to Jennifer Griffin of Fox News. Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence Joseph Kernan is also reportedly out. Meanwhile, there's talk he'll get new people in at the CIA and the FBI.

There's no way this rearranging of the deck chairs was just a fit of pique or a coincidence of timing. It was targeted, and no doubt tfg had plenty of "advice" from people no longer involved in Defense, perhaps even Michael Flynn. JMO.
