Wray Admits The FBI Never Investigated Brett Kavanaugh Sexual Assault Tips
FBI Director Chris Wray admitted during Senate testimony that tips about Brett Kavanaugh and sexual assault were never investigated but instead given to Donald Trump.
Director Wray said, I apologize that in advance that its been frustrating for you, weve tried to be clear about our process, so when it comes to the tip line, we wanted to make sure that the White House had all the information we have so when the hundreds of calls started coming in we gathered those up reviewed them and provided them to the White House without investigation.
Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) asked, You reviewed them for purposes of separating from tip-line traffic but did not further investigate the ones that related to Kavanaugh, correct?
Wray answered, Correct.
Sen. Whitehouse has been trying to get answers from the FBI for years about the sham investigation into the Brett Kavanaugh sexual assault claims. Thanks to Sen. Whitehouse (D-RI), the nation now knows that the FBI allowed the Trump administration to decide who could be questioned and what could be asked.
The investigation was a fraud. The FBI collected the tips and then handed them to Trump as he ran the investigation into his Supreme Court nominee. If it chose to do so, the Senate could open an investigation into the sham investigation and the sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh.
When Trump and the GOP conned Brett Kavanaugh onto the Supreme Court, an injustice was done. A wrong was committed that deserves to be righted.

(22,336 posts)can still be interviewed now. Too late to bring sexual assault charges against frat boy, but their testimony will help with perjury charges.
Even if it is too late for perjury charges, the fact that a sitting justice lied to Congress and has a history of sexual assault should be grounds for impeachment. We can't have someone like that on the SC, especially since he might be involved in rulings related to perjury and sexual assault.
GB_RN
(2,555 posts)Assault charges wont happen, but perjury charges could still work.
Of course, the Repukes in the Senate would never vote to convict on impeachment, even if the asshole was tried and convicted on perjury charges in court. Theyd never give up the seat. 🤷?♂️🤦?♂️

What does it matter that Wray admits it if nobody is going to do anything about it?
I remember hearing complaints that people who took the time to call the fbi didn't get a follow-up.

(11,674 posts)The key question is whether the FBI had a responsibility - or whether it lay with the WH (in vetting their own nominee). But the FBI has been telling essentially the same story from the beginning.

hopefully kavanaugh gets brought up on perjury charges and investigated for real this time; and the law permits for a sc justice to be kicked out for being a criminal

(58,987 posts)National Enquirer owner admits it buried stories for Trump
NEW YORK (AP) The parent company of magazines including the National Enquirer, Us Weekly and In Touch has admitted to engaging in a journalistically dubious practice known as catch-and-kill in order to help Donald Trump become president.
Federal prosecutors revealed Wednesday they had agreed not to prosecute American Media Inc. for secretly assisting Trumps campaign by paying $150,000 to Playboy model Karen McDougal for the rights to her story about an alleged affair with Trump. The company then intentionally suppressed McDougals story until after the election.

(2,807 posts)by explaining that EVERY time a nominee is being renominated, the client is the president, not the American public. It would have been different and a more thorough background check would have been done for someone never before nominated.
But Kavanaugh was already a judge who had been nominated previously, which totally changed what happened and put it one hundred percent in the control of then-president Donald Trump.
So Wray's turning that info over to the president was SOP and only the president could have ordered those public complaints about Kavanaugh be examined. Of course Trump never would have done that.
Figliuzzi says Whitehouse is very aware that is SOP. The only way to get that changed is for the public to demand a president change that when renominating an individual to a different post.
Figliuzzi had been explaining that to all sorts of media and was tired of having to explain it yet again, apparently. Mind-blowing that there was never going to be a review and that it's the way it always is. Good grief.
