I tend to assume that other people see what is clearly obvious about public figures, but I look around the world at authoritarian leaders and dictators, both past and present, and they are as unimpressive as DeSantis. No charisma, unattractive, and forgettable oratory skills.

When Trump exits the political scene our problems aren't over. He has set into motion something that can go on without him and there are plenty of snake oil salesmen out there who will pick up the mantle, as well as enough angry ignorant people to vote for them.

I've lived here 50 of my 70 years, the last 33 in a row, so have watched Death Sentence from the start. He is dangerous and I fear what his personal "election police" will do in 2022 and especially 2024, He's not an obvious thief like drumpf, he's smarter and I don't think is as driven to steal from us as drumpf was. He wouldn't have personally profiteered off the ventilators like drumpf/baby boy did. OTOH - he would have walked to the Capitol and ensured his goals were met. He would have riled them up so much that he could call in the police and throw the election to House and voting by state - which means he would win. drumpf's weakness in not wanting to walk there is what ultimately lead to the defeat of the insurrection.

Also not sure if he's another PUtinista or not. He never says anything about him that I've heard, but probably is in secret - they certainly have the same mind set.
