Biden's first two years have been nothing short of extraordinary no matter what you may have read
Record job creation. Record low unemployment. Major legislative achievements far beyond what anyone thought was possible. Record judicial appointments.
Restoring leadership abroad w/a remarkable global set of initiatives that have truly reset US foreign policy for a new era. It's not hyperbole. It wasn't flashy. It was certainly unlikely. But day-in and day-out the president and his team have focused on one thing: governing. So while the GOP hails extremists like Hitler wannabe Viktor Orban and defends Trump and seeks to strip away basic rights and gut democracy, while it celebrates having no agenda and repeatedly chooses to obstruct, Biden and the Dems have just been getting it done. It's old school. Sometimes it's ugly. Certainly, we all have areas where we wish more was getting done. But what they're doing is a lot. It will make a big difference in millions, even billions, of lives around he planet. And we should be happy about that. Who'd a thunk it? Link to tweet

And he did it with a 50-50 Senate.
Joe is going to be able to point to more legislative and economic achievements than any President since FDR. I don't think people fully appreciate how radically transformational the Biden presidency has been thus far. |

but alas they use all the negativity while making up shit to destroy anything good with of course no solutions.
President Biden and the administration, with an extremely steep mountain to climb up with everything imaginable thrown at them, constant obstruction even from 2 members of it's party, but Democrats' still moved forward. Because Democrats care. |

6. Biden and team have been working hard every day
If you just look at the stuff they got done with repug votes, it is pretty amazing in the current environment. That is the one thing that the media said was impossible. In interview after interview at the start of his term they kept asking "how are you going to work across the aisle?" "Don't you know that this isn't the same senate republicans from the old days?" "How are you going to unite/deal with/the left wing Dems?"
Well he did it, and has gotten zero credit for defying the conventional narratives. on a side note...just now in CNN, Jim Shooto, tease for the next segment on the jobs report..."jobs report is bad news for the stock market...market is down...chart shows market is flat...oops market is flat...now to commercial. |

7. I completely agree with you
Biden and his team seem to just put their heads down and focus on what they can do. It is amazing what they have done with just 50 Senators, a narrow majority in the House and a 6 - 3 hostile Supreme Court, which id's not nonpartisan.
This is not FDR or LBJ with huge Demoratic majorities. It is not even Obama, with as any as 60 Democratic Senators, albeit for just 4 months. This was just 50 and the 50 were all needed for the limited, but very important, things that can be done under reconciliation. It is also impressive that he got 3 big bipartisan bills passed in spite of Republicans wanting to obstruct everything. This is especially true for the CHIPS and PACT bills as we are reasonably close to the election. This while the media plays with story on his popularity and whether he should run again. It is beyond weird how the media goes all in on all crises - and there have been a lot - only to ignore hard work to find solutions. 5o me, the clearest example was the baby formula crisis where quick international work and getting US agencies to approve, and the military to transport Swiss formula resolved the problem until the US company could restart. It seemed one day, the earth was falling, babies could be harmed by not having what they needed to ... nothing. |

About all the good things the President and the Democratic Party are doing for ordinary Americans. Even if the M$M is only now grudgingly given President Biden credit for his hard work, these ads are drawing a stark contrast between our party and the GQP.

The rollout of vaccines and testing. Within about 8 weeks of taking office and discovering there was absolutely no plan to get Americans vaccinated, he had a system in place where I could get drive-through vaccination at no cost to me. The FEMA/national guard set-up at the Oakland Colosseum was a wonder.

18. Threadreader rollup...
https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1555369703736049666.html
Maybe I have spent too many years (decades?) watching how the sausage is made but the Dems getting it together around the Inflation Reduction Act actually makes me happy and hopeful. Yes, the GOP is unanimous in its uselessness, obstructionism and moral vacuity. But the Dems... ...are finding a way to make it work. They have done it alone with the American Rescue Plan. They have done it all but alone or alone on key judgeships and senior level appointments. They have had a handful of Republicans join on the infrastructure bill. Yet, here we are in the dog days of a summer in which nothing is supposed to get done and you have this IRA, the CHIPs bill, despite an almost insanely cynical effort at obstruction by the GOP, the burn pit legislation passed. The US approved Finland and Sweden joining NATO. Credit to @SenSchumer and @SpeakerPelosi for their leadership. Credit to @Sen_JoeManchin and @SenatorSinema despite all the problems they have caused in the past for coming through when the country needed it. And above all, credit to @POTUS. Biden's first two years have been nothing short of extraordinary no matter what you may have read or heard. Record job creation. Record low unemployment. Major legislative achievements far beyond what anyone thought was possible. Record judicial appointments. Restoring leadership abroad w/a remarkable global set of initiatives that have truly reset US foreign policy for a new era. It's not hyperbole. It wasn't flashy. It was certainly unlikely. So he's better on jobs than Trump.

was not the "total disaster" the media described it as, especially compared to other full-scale evacuations in history like our pullout from Vietnam, the French pullout from Indochina, the Russian evac from Afghanistan and the German retreat from Russia during WWll.

28. What's been going on in corporate media is journalistic malpractice.
I'm sick of all their bullshit narratives, shady polls and doom and gloom prognostications. The incessant sturm and drang of the Trump years was really good for their business model, and they just can't let it go. It's gone beyond bothsidesism and false equivalence; corporate media is cheering on anything that makes Biden look bad. They're not reporting the "news" any longer, they're attempting to shape public opinion to satisfy corporate ownership.

32. It's been a tough week for the GOP and Dem-haters, for sure.
People mocked President Biden for saying he could get Congress to work in a bipartisan way. And it's certainly true that the GOP is basically a nihilistic faction right now. But despite that, Biden has gotten several major pieces of bipartisan legislation through-- the infrastructure bill, gun control, CHIPS, and PACT. On top of that, of course, we got the American Rescue Plan, and are on the cusp of making a huge investment in clean energy, lowering drug prices, and raising taxes on tax-avoiding corporations. Not to mention all the confirmed judges and taking out Zawahiri.
All of this with a razor-thin margin in the House and a 50-50 Senate. It's very remarkable, actually. |

Wow maybe even if Joe is showing his age, his wisdom and personal connections allow him to get such big things through. And I'm rather pleased he is actually doing classic domestic spending, on infrastructure and sometimes listening to progressive ideas. That child tax credit was a good move. When we win some more seats then we can revamp the tax code and reverse all that bad tax cuts from 2017 and the Bush years.

49. Let us never forget
Biden saved America from the Covid plague that Trump let loose on the country. He mobilized distribution of the shots as soon as he got into office and, if we follow the charts, saved a million American lives. And all the while, in typical fashion, the GOP, instead of helping, tried to stop him at every turn, even to the point of spreading outright lies about Covid and the injections. While the GOP was literally trying to kill Americans, Biden was saving them.
