Vote them all out.

Today 43 Republicans voted to keep insulin at $1200/mo instead of $35. Tomorrow every Republican will ask you to be outraged that gas is $5 instead of $3.

In the GOP world, $1200 for life saving insulin in fair play but $5 for gas is an outrage.

Vote them all out.

Literally the death panel of America in so many ways. How anyone can vote for them is beyond beyond.

with people who are centrists or moderate Republicans or non-political. "Can you believe the latest things the Republicans did? They voted against affordable insulin! The GOP has gone off the deep end and justs keep getting more and more extreme. I can't wait to vote against them all in November."

Cost of Insulin by Country 2022

Very short: (emphasis mine)

The price of insulin in the United States compared to other countries

A landmark study published by the RAND Corporation in 2020 analyzed the average price of several different forms of insulin (human, analog, rapid, rapid-intermediate, short, short-intermediate, intermediate, and long-acting) in 33 countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), which includes most of the world's developed countries and high-income countries. The study revealed that the manufacturer price for any given type of insulin averaged five to ten times higher in the U.S. ($98.70 USD) than in all other OECD countries ($8.81 on average). Even when using net prices, which incorporate possible rebates, U.S. prices would be roughly four times higher than in other countries.

Bill Pascrell, Jr. @BillPascrell
Here are the mcconnell republican senators who just killed capping insulin at $35. Republicans told millions of Americans who use insulin to go to hell. Remember their names.

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, the ranking member on the Budget committee, raised a point of order on the insulin cap, arguing that it was in violation the Congressional Budget Act — and therefore would need at least 60 votes in order to stay in the larger bill.

In a 57-43 vote, seven Republicans joined all 50 Democrats in seeking to keep the provision in the larger bill, falling short by three votes.

Republican lawmakers who voted to keep the specific provision in the legislation included Sens. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Susan Collins of Maine, Josh Hawley of Missouri, Cindy Hyde-Smith of Mississippi, John Kennedy of Louisiana, and Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan of Alaska. [snip]

He [Wyden D-OR] continued: "Fortunately, the $35 insulin copay cap for insulin in Medicare remains in the bill, so seniors will get relief from high insulin costs. I will continue working to deliver lower insulin costs to all Americans."

6. Same. Not quite sure what to make of it.

That four out of the seven were from southern states is also interesting. I wonder if they voted knowing they'd score points at home but without any danger of the cap actually staying in the bill. Hawley's vote may have been along the same lines.

the same. Probably does have family members that use it. Kind of surprised Blunt didn’t vote for the cap. He has nothing to lose since he is leaving. Maybe Blunt and Hawley made a deal to take the heat of of Hawley. Blunt votes against the cap so Hawley can vote for it.
