https://www.buzzfeed.com/hilarywardle/this-is-why-lots-of-scottish-people-hate-trumpSo, you may have noticed that whenever Donald Trump visits Scotland, he gets a bit of a negative reception.
People rubbing balloons on his hair, calling him a cunt and a bawbag, mercilessly trolling him on Twitter. That sort of thing. It's been going on for years, way before he became president. So, what's up?
It started in 2006 when Trump decided to buy an estate in Aberdeenshire and turn it into a golf resort. But there were some sand dunes standing in his way.

(6,927 posts)but my paycheck doesn't support them. I had a bottle of Oban 12 year that i nursed for a few years. Lately i've been on a rye kick. Bulliet is pretty good, whistlepig is slightly better, to my taste. But i do miss having a bottle on hand for the occasional nip o' the fine stuff

(12,752 posts)I dont imbibe anymore, as a long time diabetic. It messes with my blood glucose management.
If I were going to drink alcoholic beverages it would be some type of barley malt, with or without the e. No corn likker for this boy. Does that make me unAmerican?
Maeve
(43,476 posts)Just coming off an Irish festival weekend and answering a question with a question is part of that hangover...not fond of corn likker, myself, and me raised with folks who could find a still if wanted.
Knowing about whisk*y is part of explaining Irish culture, so it's what I do. As for "unAmerican"--that would be a term for trump-humpers, not a DUer!

(2,131 posts)(And I have said this on numerous occasions) he is the anti-Mr. Rogers-- not the anti-Christ, as some have proclaimed. This grants him too much power and would probably appeal to his deluded sense of grandeur.
He is the anti-Mr. Rogers in that he brings out the worst in everyone, including those who stand in opposition to him. Finding a way to fight him and not coming away covered in his filth is the challenge of our time. Not being the praying sort myself, I can only suggest ruminating on the spirit of the actual Mr. Rogers.
Of course, when dealing with someone as reeking and slimy as Trump, it may be necessary to evoke Mr. Rogers, the Mahatma Gandhi, the Dalai Lama and possibly Mr. Spock in an attempt to maintain one's composure and integrity.

(5,126 posts)tRump IS opposite of everything the Christ stood for, so he IS "an" Anti-Christ mascot if nothing else.
BUT you are so right that the way he brings out the worst in everyone even those who oppose his horrible ways.
My only solace is that time Christ lost it and threw the money changers out of the Temple. People who were cheating those who came to make offerings to God out of their money by monkeying with the exchange rate like a casino owner rigs the system got the carpenter's son pissed. HUGE wooden tables were thrown out of the temple and their owners given the boot as well.
The Pharisees who gave lip service to being faithful servants of God while doing unspeakable things in private also got stern words from Christ.
So if even Christ lost it when rich people walk into the home of the Lord and do dirty business and/or pretend to have the higher authority; then at least we get upset at the same things.
BUT because tRump's hold on US is so extreme, finding the peaceful path is even more important to not lose oneself in the process.
The Repuke "trickle down" leaves us all covered in snot and piss from their uncontrolled spewing of lies and threats of violence.

(9,360 posts)for instance, "The Adventures of Fanny Hill" is X-rated.
However, that isn't the meaning in the case of "Sweet Fanny Adams" - a real child - a true story both terribly sad and serribly gruesome.

(130 posts)Apparently tfg intends to golf in 2 places he is not liked nor wanted, at the end of this month, in Ireland and Scotland where he owns golf clubs. Musicians in many pubs will be singing the song by Richard Thompson (2015) that mocks trump, Fergus Laing, and Glasgow comedian Janey Godley has 4 special words for the big-lying loser. Thankfully Ill miss him by a few days in the west of Ireland and hope his stench is not lingering for long.
