All of a Sudden, Giant Grasshoppers in my House

Never seen them before. N. Jersey. WTF? Last week at my sister’s house, my nephew called me to the basement to help clean up half a dozen giant grasshoppers we’ve never seen before. Just scooped up the third one in my basement. Completely new. Good lord. Maybe the new Lantern Flys brought them in?

And found a wheel bug.

Apparently, she screamed so loud, the neighbors on both sides came over to check. My daughter snapped a picture of the huge thing, and sent it to me. I quickly found the scary looking creature on the google.

I had never seen a wheel bug, or even heard of it. She was right to scream. It’s one bad-ass bug.

Ps…grasshoppers freak me out. We haven’t seen them yet.

The last time I saw one of those was on the big screen at the Kiddie Matinee in 1958. If I ever stumbled onto one those in person, my defibrillator would short out.

Exposure to 1950s radiation made you gigantic, or gave you superpowers.

It didn’t make your hair fall out and slowly turn you into goo like it does now.
