Or give the slot to Ali Velshi.

(10,384 posts)He brought in Rachel. MSNBC surely must realize his value. Despite his tantrums.

(6,210 posts)Why would they choose someone so humorless to replace Williams? She always seems confrontational with her guests. I know good news people must ask probing questions, but to me she is sometimes disrespectful.
I miss Brian very much!

(113,378 posts)seriously. She's not the only one, by any means-- and I have no issues with her otherwise, but listening to her late at night is like fingernails on the chalkboard.

It's a high-profile slot. Seems they didn't take their time to fill the slot. MSNBC's afternoon to evening to later slots from Wallace to Melber to Reid to Hayes to Maddow (at least used to be), to O'Domnell to Williams all seemed to compliment the next host. There was a rhyme, rhythm and cadence to the line-up, but now, at least IMO, there's a flat note at 11th hour.

(9,212 posts)But sort of agree. Maybe she will grow into it. I think she has improved. She seems to act like everything is funny or some trendy convo slash argument to have. She is trying too hard to be catchy and trendy maybe and it seems forced. I cant remember what she was like before. Maybe she is trying to be something like BW was, just my impressions, but she would be better off to be herself imo.
BW had gravity as well. My fav announcer on that channel who I did not like at first is NW. She never shouts etc, she always has something good to say and good stories and she looks and acts like a professional. Ali V I like as a reporter, he is great at it, but as an announcer he annoys me and or bores me.

She does seem to ask questions no one else dares, though.

(38,469 posts)Williams retired. Daily TV is a thankless grind. Look at John Stewart, and now Maddow.
