Donations 2022

Writing this to ask for guidance on giving donations during this election season. Retired government employee with fixed income and don't have a lot of money to throw away. During the last two elections I gave donations to a number of candidates who were soundly defeated; if I am going to give my money away I want it to have some impact. I also don't want to donate to someone who is a sure win and has tons of cash already. Do any of the organizations asking for donations give any info on the probability the candidate could actually win the election with grass roots support?

Just got a donation request for Fetterman claiming that he was in a tight race and needed money. A quick check indicates he is leading by double digits and has plenty of cash on hand, so you have to question these requests. Like with charities, if you give any money you wind up being deluged with requests.

Any helpful advice appreciated.

But I think Ryan in Ohio is in a closer race but has a good chance to win.

Also, I think I'd be looking at the House right now. That's where were more likely to lose than in the Senate. And there are always governors' races to consider.
