Just curious: Why is the GOQ House Conference convinced TFG is their best bet for 2022 and 2024?

A guy under multiple criminal investigations doesn't exactly seem to be their best bet for electoral success, but McCarthy, Scalise, and Stefanik all want to tie themselves to the criminal as closely as they can and seem to want him to be the 2024 GOQ nominee desperately also. Why? What are they seeing that I'm not?

Also, I can't get into their little pea brains but wouldn't Desantis offer them the chance of political success also? Why do they prefer Trump over DeSatan?

Dana was just on CNN playing a clip of the House GOQ pledging fealty to the criminal, today. Why are they doing this?

2. The cult.

Trump is unique in that he was never a politician & has that Apprentice fame/persona, which was national, not regional. His birther stuff helps, too. If Trump is out of the running, it will take awhile to find a candidate the cult will coalesce around. Some will want DeSantis, some Abbott, some their local asshole. It would take the wind out of the cult's sails for one, maybe even more elections, & without the cult, the repubs can't win.

That's just my opinion.
