https://www.justice.gov/contact-usI am writing an email demanding they indict the orange fuck NOW. Aside from all the chatter about classification level and the declassification process, the fact of the matter is that he illegally possessed classified documents at his home and his lawyers lied when they said the FBI had all of them months ago. Obviously they lied because the FBI recovered another 20+ boxes of documents last week. He is a walking security threat. Who knows if he made copies of some of the material and is still walking free and can sell it?
But despite all the bluushit they want you to get caught up in, like the declassifying process, etc., the fact is he illegally possessed classified documents at his home in an unsecured location. That alone is a fucking felony and it's already 100% true.
Indict him now and add charges later.
The link to a contact form to the DOJ is above. I just sent my letter.

America has sustained enough damage.

(28,343 posts)I trust Garland and the DOJ, not internet road warriors.
This is not your typical espionage situation, it involves a former president. Absolute care must be taken to properly build the case, cross at Ts, and dot all lower case js.

(6,115 posts)It's much more comforting to sit and complain and do nothing. That way, no matter what is done or not done, you get to complain about it!
I'd rather participate in my government, thank you very much. We all have the right to make our voices heard. I am happy to exercise that right.
Silence implies consent.
That motherfucker needs to be arrested now.
MarineCombatEngineer
(15,010 posts)that would be a bad assumption.
Who here has said you don't have that right?
I urge everyone to petition their Govt., but just because many of us don't agree with you doesn't mean we're not doing something other than talking on a chat board, which is exactly what you're doing.
Seems kinda ironic.

There's a process to follow and we shouldn't succumb to lynch mob behavior.

(15,010 posts)AG Garland and the DoJ are doing a splendid job, along with the J6 Committee, of putting the pieces of the puzzle together.

(39,063 posts)Rather then rush things and give TFG the ability to appeal and overturn or even outright dismissal of charges

(96,882 posts)DOJ will indict Trump when they have built a case sufficient to obtain a conviction in Court, which is a higher bar than almost any other criminal case. Your letters, phone calls, petitions etc. will have no influence.

(14,374 posts)Um...just - no. That's not how it works.
The illegal course of action you are suggesting would ensure his due process was violated and would invalidate the case against him.
We can't enforce the law by breaking it.

(123,729 posts)Garland cant afford to rush a prosecution of this magnitude, and he wont. He wont move until its airtight, and no amount of whining from the cheap seats will pressure him in the slightest.

(40 posts)Im not saying they should indict him today. I will only say that the time component to this mess is crucial. Utterly crucial. I don't just mean the midterms. Our ship is taking on water.....fast. If your strategy consists of "It doesn't matter how much water we take on, as long as it gets plugged eventually."
That's how we end up with a water-tight ship; sitting at the bottom of the ocean.

(15,010 posts)airtight cases.
Welcome to DU.
Master Jah-Remi
(40 posts)I understand that. But he's not infallible. Maybe he doesn't have the time he thinks he does. Maybe treating these cases like this just another case for the DOJ, in which they can afford to investigate for months or years is incorrect. Strategically. Trump over and over again runs out the clock. I mean, he can't be charged with ANYTHING right now? Nothing?

(6,269 posts)he will be charged...he can run but he can't hide...
Master Jah-Remi
(40 posts)The Fbi got a court order to search for illegal activity.
They found it.
Charge him for it. Get him in court. Get him before a Judge. He will lie. He will make a scene. He will ignore the judges orders. He will violate pre-trial conditions. They can bring whatever other charges whenever they want. They don't have to charge him with Espionage yet. Charge him the mishandling of documents and lying to the FBI.

(40 posts)Who impanels a Grand Jury? Do they form all by themselves? No. The DOJ does. Do you not know that? Obviously not. Why be so snide and then offer only a argument of semantics?
"The DOJ doesn't indict, a Grand Jury does! (Impaneled by lawyers at the......DOJ." ............smh maybe reserve a facepalm for yourself.
BumRushDaShow
(149,291 posts)how federal prosecutions are carried out is a "fact" that you were apparently unaware of.
But nice try.
Master Jah-Remi
(40 posts)You haven't argued against my main point at all. I opined they should indict him now, and you chimed in only because you believe I've never heard of a grand jury simply because I didn't mention it. You have made no "argument" to for me to lose.
Just an attack based purely on samantics, decorated with a childish emoji followed by a cartoon gif.
Again. I'm sorry my opinion upset you.
BumRushDaShow
(149,291 posts)And you were attempting to correct it (or at least try to look it up) based on all the edits that you did.
You apparently don't know how federal grand juries work either, let alone how often they might meet during a given timeframe or even how many may even be empaneled for this entire ordeal because you are NOT supposed to "know". The process is "secret" barring reporters stationing themselves outside of courtrooms watching who comes and goes, and hoping a few are willing to disclose that they have been subpoenaed.
There is no "semantics". It's an interesting process that is worth your time to research before demanding that someone "charge" RIGHT NOW!!!1!!111!!!1!!.

(148,726 posts)The answer to that question is: "No. It does not make a difference."
The DOJ, the FBI, and other federal agencies do not operate based on public opinion. They operate under established rules and procedures. While there is no reason no to tell those agencies what you want them to do, there is really nobody in authority who will see what you tell them. Those people do not have time for such irrelevant communications. Instead, they are spending their time doing their jobs and working on ensuring that justice is served.
But, do send your emails. There's no reason not to. They will be counted.
we can do it

(76,417 posts)Absolutely! Amendment 1 provides us the right to address the government. Some of us understand that "rights" involve "responsibilities."
Will contacting them determine if they indict, try, and convict Trump? Of course not. That actually has nothing to do with why people can -- and should -- contact the DOJ.
The republican maggots are letting the DOJ know they disapprove of going after Trump with the rule of law. We can demonstrate that we support the rule of law.
