Experts are warning of the danger poised by the Republican Party as Trump supporters escalate their rhetoric as his legal woes mount as he faces investigations in Florida, Georgia, New York, and Washington, D.C.
Edward Luce, an editor at the Financial Times, tweeted, "Ive covered extremism and violent ideologies around the world over my career."
"Have never come across a political force more nihilistic, dangerous, and contemptible than todays Republicans," Luce wrote. "Nothing close."
His analysis was retweeted by former CIA Director Michael Hayden.

(11,212 posts)When someone of the caliber of Edward Luce writes what he did in that tweet, it surely should give you the chill of death itself. The GOP is nihilistic and seeks the destruction of our political institution and in its place, a cult of scoffers.

(17,827 posts)me are the people on the R. side of the aisle that are supporting this kind of talk. They took a pledge to uphold the constitution against foreign AND domestic terrorists. Some of them are encouraging domestic terrorism. Democrats need to call them out daily.

(1,884 posts)Was, is and always will be a complete menace. Whats most concerning however is that the Republican Congress and leader ship and moderate Republicans and even conservative Republicans that believe in law and order and in stability in our society and democracy rallying behind this despicable character. Thats our biggest concern. TFG is a person with no redeeming qualities and wants to be a modern day Hitler, Stalin, Putin etc, in the worst way.

Hayden is in his 70's and has already recovered from a stroke. He is retired, and has no more fucks to give. So he's telling it like it is.
