@LaureenNarro
Dear restaurant owners, please dont do this on your receipts 🧾
Its effin propaganda. Do you create and call out a surcharge when the cost of coffee beans goes up? Or eggs or butter? No you do not. Pay workers a decent wage without whining 🤬

(31,101 posts)I guess they think people will work for them for peanuts if they are desperate enough. Thats why they hate low unemployment like it is now

(15,390 posts)Then they don't have to pay them anything.
They might lose their family tho. And their "business model" will suck.
Or perhaps they should just get behind the counter and do all the work themselves?

just didnt have to pay those pesky employees, we would have soooo much more money-sarcasm thingy. Thats what I have thought of employers since the 1980s. Yesterday they closed a local Starbucks I believe because they have been trying to unionize. Starbucks made up some lame excuses. I am no fan of Starbucks because I dont like coffee.

(6,254 posts)sometimes they are not. 25 years ago I owned a restaurant and because of some event lettuce went up from like $5 for a huge box to like $50 for the same amount. I didnt like it but thats business. I guess one could say that this 4% surcharge is temporary and better than a permanent increase in goods. My daughter bought a new Honda and paid sticker plus $1,500 and other BS charges the ordinarily we would never accept like $500 for etching. But she needed a car and it was better than paying $5000 over list that Kia was charging. The Honda sales woman said she thinks the manufacturers are perfectly happy with the new demand and full price cost of cars and thinks it will never go down. She might be right.
