She lives across country, we communicate by phone (rarely) and email, often.
and have never discussed politics, we have other mutual interests.
Till yesterday. I commented on her state's early voting, she told me she had voted for Romney.
Now, this is not a high information voter type, granted.
But still.....
I am still feeling gob smacked.

Bush at least PRETENDED to care with his "compassionate conservatism". Romney has made it clear that he doesn't give a crap about the 47%. Hurricane Sandy showed us how disaster response is done the right way, while Bush's Katrina response will become the norm if Mittens becomes president:
