(17,823 posts)I haven't seen it in years, but I enjoyed every episode. I wonder if someone would be able to do an American version of that show. It would have to be somewhat different because our social classes are different than they are in Britain, but I think it could be done and it would be a hoot.

(20,007 posts)They were all so good. All really veteran actors. They looked like real people. I just loved them.

(17,823 posts)It was an excellent cast. You're right, it would be hard to find people like that over here, regular-looking Americans who are also great actors. It might not work after all.

(20,007 posts)acting not very well. It's annoying.
But British mysteries use real professional character actors. I can watch them and get completely lost in their characters.
I do think American mysteries used to be better because I used to really enjoy them.

(23,499 posts)She is not a judge. She was the AG for Florida long enough to take a donation from Trump and toss one of his investigations into the toilet for it.
(I didn't realize how long this was going to be when I started copying it. But it's good to get a feel as to how it all went down. Trump is such a criminal!)
Here is some information from CREW - "In March 2016, CREW discovered that the Trump Foundation had broken the law by giving an illegal $25,000 contribution to a political group supporting Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi. Charitable foundations like the Trump Foundation are not allowed to engage in politics. Even more problematic was the fact that the contribution was given as Bondis office was deciding whether to take legal action related to Trump University. This would set off an investigation which would lead to one of the biggest stories of the year. Heres how it went down:

Oct 15, 2013
According to documents turned over in response to a CREW public records request, OAG told reporters that there was no consideration of whether to join [the New York lawsuit]. In light of the fact that the Attorney Generals Office received only one consumer complaint 2.5 years ago, there is no investigation at this time.
Oct 17, 2013
The Tampa Bay Times reports that And Justice for All acknowledged receiving the contribution from the Trump Foundation.
Oct 18, 2013
Despite previously acknowledging the 22 complaints (sometimes 23 due to a duplicate record) to reporters, internal emails show that between October 17-18, 2013, OAG employees weeded out any complaint about Trump Institute and related entities to claim there was only one complaint against Trump University.
Jan 01, 2014
In its 2013 taxes, the Trump Foundation claims it made no donations to political entities and replaces And Justice for All with a different, similarly named group in Kansas to which they would legally be allowed to donate.

Sep 07, 2016
CREW files a second IRS complaint against Donald Trump and the Trump Foundation for the donation supporting Bondi. The complaint called for an investigation into whether the donation was used to provide a private benefit to Trump and his business interests by attempting to discourage Bondi and her office from investigating Trump University. The complaint also calls for an investigation into Trump for engaging in prohibited self-dealing.

(4,128 posts)..big $ supporters as many do not want the publicity of attending. I used to work for a firm where the Board was in lock step with R policies and sent tons of dollars to R-backed organizations. But, they did so quietly as they were concerned as a publicly traded Fortune 1000 company it would look bad. Go figure! They would not be caught dead attending such a meeting in person with their wives.
Guess TFG is really hurting for cash.
