It is extremely important to vote. If one of these conservatives judges retires or dies in The future, a majority Democratic Senate would confirm a democratic appointed Justice.
Read this, about decisions the supreme Court has made recently that hint at a real possibility of them limiting the executive authority once again.
t-Kept the CDC from enforcing an eviction moratorium due to the Covid-19 pandemic;
-OSHA from enforcing a vaccine mandate in workplaces; and
-The EPA from implementing proposed limits on greenhouse gasses.

(20,531 posts)When my son-in-law informed me, out of the blue, "you know, I'm a conservative, right?" I responded by asking, "what have you conserved this week?" I then went on to explain how I figured I was the most conservative person I know. I had to be as I'm retired, and the inevitability of inflation will erode my savings to a fraction of their one-time value. His response was, "yeah, we need federal legislation to control that". As I looked him in the eye, expecting to see a light of sarcasm, it hit me how he was totally serious. Long sigh....
Of course, there's a stepson who still can't understand how the "fair tax" initiative is patently and obviously a fraud catering to the wealthy. Another longer sigh....
Mostly, I just want these geniuses to keep off my lawn. Yes, I sigh a lot at Thanksgiving.

(23,843 posts)This is well established that the DoE has the ability to deal with student loans as they see fit.

(30,085 posts)They're on board with Betsy DeVos in wanting to do way with it. So it's unlikely they will admit to recognizing DoE legitimacy in this or any other national education standard.

(85 posts)A lawsuit filed by any Republican lawmaker it would probably be filed in a court with a Trump appointee. When that happens it needs to be SHOUTED that the pukes and their stacking of the courts did that.
Pres. Biden laid out the argument very succinctly when he mentioned the unequal tax cuts.

(28,677 posts)Indeed... there's a good chance that a left-leaning court would as well.
The question is whether opponents can find someone with standing to bring the case and whether it will make a difference at that point (assuming the debts are already gone).

(22,482 posts)You cant just sue because you dont like a policy.
I dont think Someone who paid their loans already would have standing, as they arent affected by the policy, except perhaps emotionally.
So who would?
