New scam in KCMO area. It's not really new but it's

gotten to be a big problem.

2 or 3 people distract the mark and one sneaks up and steals their wallet. Abd charge up their cards as fast as they can.

There was another one where 2 kids walked up to someone and asked if they could use her phone to call their mother. She handed her phone over and somehow went into Venmo and stole a whole bunch of money. I don't remember where that was. I just saw it on the news. I don't know anything about Venmo.

Theft is becoming a huge problem here in KCMO. The police seem to have given up because they can't catch these guys and they aren't violent. The violent stuff takes priority .but these thieves are stealing everything in sight. They ransack cars. They steal cars and work trucks and trailers and catalytic converters. They stole someone's swingset. It's bad. You have to make sure everything is inside 24 hours a day. They hit during the day when people are at work or late when people are asleep

at a lower-end mall with a friend in the Army, a teen was shooting spitballs to provide the distraction.

The friend was carrying a tote bag with an open top that could be reached into -- on purpose to attract trouble, unknown to me, while her career combat soldier husband trailed a few dozen yards behind. Something they apparently did now and then for fun.

This stuff should be part of high school home economics courses.

Phones get stolen. Phones get lost. If that happens to me, whoever has it will not be able to access any financial accounts.

I do that stuff at home, on my desktop computer. Even there, I do not have any automatic log-ins enabled for any financial connections.
