OP
I'm sure there's even a tiny amount of Begich voters that made Palin their 2nd choice

(5,255 posts)2. If She Needs That High a Percentage of Begich 2nd Place Votes . . .
. . . it probably isn't going to be close, actually, and Peltola will win (I certainly hope so!!). The prevailing idea is that many Begich voters - more than 32%, certainly - would not want Palin in office under any circumstances and thus ranked Peltola or someone else 2nd. But Wasserman loves horse races and hot takes more than actual deep analysis.

(12,444 posts)9. How many Begich voters will make Peltola their 2nd choice?
Can't be many...

Even if it's 5%, that could make a difference.

(16,396 posts)4. What does this mean?
Depending on how many ballots exhaust
I've been trying to educate myself as to how ranked choice voting works, and I think I have a handle on the basics. However, I still find the whole thing confusing, and this terminology has me completely baffled. What does it mean for ballots to "exhaust"?

(17,235 posts)5. Never heard the "exhaust" term used with ballots.
Is it possibly ballots who picked no 2nd place winner?

(42,703 posts)7. I believe that refers to ballots that didn't make a second choice
Ballots cast for Begich that don't show any second choice.

(16,396 posts)8. Oh, that makes sense!
What odd terminology, though. That's why I've had such a hard time figuring out how ranked choice voting works. Almost every source I've looked at had some cryptic terminology somewhere along the line that stopped me in my tracks.
I finally found a site that explains the whole thing in plain English, and it's been a big help: https://www.rcvresources.org/what-is-rcv

They've already seem Mama Grizzly's act and it's a white trash facade.
Time for some new blood and I'm sure in Alaska they have someone else who fits the bill. For better or worse.
