said in an interview on I think NPR that Trump was known to be mobbed up. He cited specifics. I thought for sure the news media would be all over this, and that the candidacy would end shortly thereafter because, after all, who would support a known mobster for the highest office in the land?

Boy, was I wrong. The media never adequately pursued or reported on Trump's criminal associations. The people who voted for him wouldn't have cared, anyway, and hence the GQPee turned a blind eye because they found a front man the rubes loved who would enact their vile agenda. Disgusting.

My point is that he could and should have been stopped then, if not earlier.

Advertisers and the media know exactly who to target with their programming and ads. It's their job to be able to identify that. The people who voted for him saw exactly what the media wanted them to see. There has always been a subset of voters who vote merely by what they see on the TV or hear in an advertisement. They are lazy voters and citizens. They take no responsibility for educating themselves when it comes time to vote.

The best example of that is how he didn't show up for almost a half-hour and the tv cameras just continued showing the empty podium. Or how he was able to railroad the moderators of the debates with Hillary.

But that didn't matter, there were always a way to see commercials and whatnot. So, the first time I ever saw or heard him I immediately was disgusted. He just gave me the creeps!

From his big pr boosts and the attention he was getting, he then "bought" a Beauty Pageant where he spied on teenagers, and made friends with Putin. Then to attract the weirdos he got involved in the World Wrestling Con.

He knew how to build his base. He proved it and improved it during the campaign. Stalking Sec. Clinton on debate stage. Calling on his best friend Putin to hack our government back then by "finding her emails" and no one did anything about it. In fact the head of the FBI also approved of targeting Hillary. Gee whiz Mr Comey, Did you even vet him? Did your department give Putin a handout for our Democracy?

But yeah, look at how successful they are in brainwashing their base has been. Church goers are easily manipulated as well, easy targets, and most are already brainwashed.

'...the Federal sentencing system already contains the two procedural features that were lacking in the State systems struck down in Furman v. Georgia. These procedures are a bifurcated trial, in which the sentencing hearing is held separately from the conviction phase, and the preparation of a presentence report focusing on the particular defendant and the particular crime. In addition, the cruel and unusual punishment clause of the eighth amendment does not, of itself, prohibit Congress from providing the death penalty. Therefore, capital punishment for espionage and other serious Federal crimes is constitutional.'

Is media so click-conscious that it doesn't have time to provide context and depth?

Based on just the few links in the OP it is clear that treachery, greed, corruption, collusion are completely ON BRAND for Trump and family. There are probably hundreds of articles and quotes that would add to this conclusion but that are all but ignored by media outlets. It sometimes takes DUrs such as NDog to reach back into the past and illuminate the present and future...but this doesn't reach the people it needs to reach.

52. Our nation executed the Rosenbergs for similar crimes
Sat Aug 27, 2022, 03:25 PM
Aug 2022

From Wikipedia:

(Julius and Ethel) Rosenberg were American citizens who were convicted of spying on behalf of the Soviet Union. The couple were convicted of providing top-secret information about radar, sonar, jet propulsion engines and valuable nuclear weapon designs. Convicted of espionage in 1951, they were executed by the federal government of the United States in 1953 at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining, New York, becoming the first American civilians to be executed for such charges and the first to receive that penalty during peacetime.
...
For decades many people including the Rosenbergs' sons (Michael and Robert Meeropol) maintained that Julius and Ethel were innocent of spying on their country and were victims of Cold War paranoia. The extent of the Rosenbergs' crimes came to light, however, when the U.S. government declassified information about them after the fall of the Soviet Union. This declassified information included a trove of decoded Soviet cables (code-name: Venona), which detailed Julius's role as a courier and recruiter for the Soviets, and information about Ethel's role as an accessory who helped recruit her brother David into the spy ring and did clerical tasks such as typing up documents that Julius then passed to the Soviets. In 2008, the National Archives of the United States published most of the grand jury testimony related to the prosecution of the Rosenbergs.

Emphasis added.

In MHO, it's just a matter of time before info about Canteloupe Calligula's numerous crimes becomes available, and it will be just as damning -- if not worse -- than what the Rosenbergs were charged with and convicted of.

At the very least, he should be arrested, arraigned and required to stand trial!
---
In the interest of full disclosure, I have family in Taiwan and am very concerned about what he shared with Xi Jinping about that island nation.

have sold or passed on US intel onto MBS and Vlad that the took with him when he left the White House.

America has had 3 Americans who were convicted of espionage @ the levels that Trump might be at. And they are:

how many people are now dead because of the intel that Donny and Jared gave the Saudis

President Trump has gone to extraordinary lengths to conceal details of his conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, including on at least one occasion taking possession of the notes of his own interpreter and instructing the linguist not to discuss what had transpired with other administration officials, current and former U.S. officials said.

Trump did so after a meeting with Putin in 2017 in Hamburg that was also attended by then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. U.S. officials learned of Trump’s actions when a White House adviser and a senior State Department official sought information from the interpreter beyond a readout shared by Tillerson.

The constraints that Trump imposed are part of a broader pattern by the president of shielding his communications with Putin from public scrutiny and preventing even high-ranking officials in his own administration from fully knowing what he has told one of the United States’ main adversaries.

continues -

U.S. officials said there is no detailed record, even in classified files, of Trump’s face-to-face interactions with the Russian leader at five locations over the past two years. Such a gap would be unusual in any presidency, let alone one that Russia sought to install through what U.S. intelligence agencies have described as an unprecedented campaign of election interference.

Where is the interpreter, Marina Gross now?

"Translator who listened to Trump and Putin’s calls says it was like overhearing ‘friends chatting in a bar’"

Like between wiseguys Pauly and Vinny? Listen, with a seasoned ear, to "two friends chatting in a bar," and you'll hear boss-ordered whacks and all sorts of things--all without saying any incriminating words. And sometimes you have to listen to what *isn't* being said.

Ask Michael Cohen, he'll tell you all about it.

...a Memo of Conversation and files it with the State Department.

That was done with in-person meetings, such as Helsinki. These should exist in State Dept files unless Pompeo stole them.

But the phone calls appear to not have been memorialized.

just a ploy all along to act like he didn't care. Or he sat there daydreaming - what can I do with this document. If he concluded nothing, he never wanted to see the person again

But hauling TS docs all over...bet he blackmailed lots of countries - hey look what we've got on you!!

and he looks a little stressed and unsettled. Putin, on the other hand, sure looks like the cat that just ate the canary.

Wonder which part of the store he gave away that day? If I remember correctly, he and Putin had a private two-hour (I think) meeting behind closed doors for something like two hours, and with nobody else present but their translators. Sneaky fucking SHIT! And Putin had the big orange American sucker right where he wanted him.

Schmuck sold us out. To an avowed long-time adversary.

Hey, you bastard, what'd you get for it (besides 30 pieces of silver)?

83. So in reading these article one name stood out to me as a deputy at CIA

Sheetal Patel, I was trying to find if she was related at all to Kash Patel and Gina Haskell was so adamant that Kash not be put in at the DOD. The only article I came across is a recent article of a Sheetal Patel who died in the Colorado river in the Grand Canyon in June 2022. I found the names interesting and then find one who "accidentally" washed away while putting her feet in the river, and drowned. There is nothing to say it is the same person or there is any relation but it needled my mind some.
