Her first segment on TRUMP STEALING THE DOCUMENTS, and A_HOLE "Trumpers" Threatening National Archive Staff is ground breaking.
I am going to send the video of tonight first segment to my Rump-loving family. It is THAT GOOD.
PLEASE RACHEL, COME BACK. THE NATION NEEDS YOU. I am not throwing B.S.

(17,243 posts)Rachel gives us ENTHUSIASM, she can be dramatic, she shows CONCERN and that she's truly threatened by the news she is discussing, She has such an excellent sense of humor and displays that every night. I could go on and on siting my reasons for loving her.
There is no host on television, cable or regular tv that meets an A++++

(32,616 posts)The half hour lead in to a story put me to sleep. It is actually insulting.

(4,873 posts)By evening, my brain is jello.. and to have her be so precise and even repetitive, is refreshing to me. It's less strain on my brain, like she's teaching me in crayons. lol
I like Alex too btw. She's totally different, and so far I'm not seeing a thing wrong (other than I'm having to sit up straight in class and focus harder!!)

Alex just does not have the chops for this show. I tried. It's not working. I feel sorry for her. She seems nervous about trying to live up to the standard Rachel set, and I can understand why. There's a hole in the lineup for us now. We watch Chris and Lawrence, but except for Mondays, we do something else in Rachel's time slot. It makes me sad. I understand that Rachel has her own needs and has stepped down to fulfill those needs, but they need to work harder to find a better suited replacement. Surely there's someone out there with talent and style who is appropriate to take over for Rachel.

(11,656 posts)I'll continue to give Alex the benefit of the doubt but I don't think its fair to expect her to be Rachel Maddow who is in a league of her own.

(28,280 posts)Alex is doing a creditable job; she's worth watching---which is more than I can say about some other MSNBC personnel (Andrea Mitchell, Chuck Todd, Ari Melber). We're all lucky to still be able to view Rachel, even if it's just one evening a week.

(111,110 posts)She gets straight to the story. I don't have the patience to listen to Rachel's history lessons, although they are very good, before she gets to her story. When I tune in, I'm looking for new information and I don't want to wait.
Just my opinion.

(5,164 posts)Shows and announcers. I dont like any of the new ones really. I barely watched at all yesterday. I am so sick of hearing most everybody excusing that monster and walking stuff back. . And CNN has gone crazy as far as I can tell from the little I have watched. Earlier I saw a huge breaking news sign: judge could decide at any moment about appointing a special master, wtf???? It is nothing but insanity lately.
Another thing that happens is commercials play for one second and another starts, and the same ones over and over. Its like nobody is even paying attention to what happens anymore definitely a sign of the breakdown of everything.
