Tony Ornato (SService/WH) "abruptly" retired yesterday.

"Tony Ornato abruptly retired on Monday just two days before he was scheduled to be interviewed by the Jan. 6 committee."

"Though anonymous agent sources told media outlets Ornato was willing to testify under oath, Ornato has yet to agree to an interview with the Jan. 6 committee and recently retained a private lawyer."

Did somebody get to him? Or has he just gone to work for the fat felon?

Let's see how he'd handle it. The reaction, like others, is all-revealing.

I wonder how deep the rot was and how far the Secret Service would hav let things go.

Frightening.

I'm glad that President Biden has started to clean house at the USSS.

likely lead to disciplinary action (possibly including being fired for cause and jeopardizing his pension, I'm not certain), which is avoided if he retires and fights an eventual subpoena as a private citizen.

In the long view this is also a delaying tactic and he's banking on the GQP taking the House and disbanding the J6 Comm.

I think during the preliminary hearings done in closed sessions. Before the public hearings began.

Not saying he wasn't also requested to appear in open hearing sessions... Just that if it is accurate, it should have been noted/mentioned in this article. Wondering why it wasn't.

Like Ginni Thomas and Mike Pence...more than happy to have a J6 committee sit-down until they're not..I think Tony Ornato is involved in both the insurrection and MAL document-gate...he was a Trump loyalist, so much so, he "double-dipped"..he served as both Trump's Secret Service detail and deputy chief of staff...Trump is a paranoid sonofabitch, trusting very few people, I think Tony "helped with the packing", boxing documents and moving them out of the White House...
