Right after the war, was not enough compensation?

the war. That kind of needy growth in population, even temporary, probably blew the Polish budget.

Absolutely disgraceful.

I remember seeing a documentary on PBS many years ago (I can't recall the title) about several Holocaust survivors returning to their old villages in Poland for the first time since the war. The thing I remember most was not a single one of the elderly people in those villages expressed any delight at seeing their old neighbors return alive and well, some of whom they actually played with as children. All they were seemingly concerned about was whether these Jews had returned to take their homes and businesses back, which they probably still rightfully owned.

Very sad.

In reality, this is posturing - treaties resolved this long ago.

Completely unreasonable to punish one generation for the crimes of their grandparents.

Yes, I disapprove of slavery reparations in the US as well. Too much time has passed.

Because all those territories were comprised overwhelmingly of ethnic Germans before they were ethnically cleansed by both the Soviets and the Poles AFTER the war had already ended in 1945, in direct violation of international law.

Yes, the Nazis committed unspeakable atrocities against the Polish people during their brutal occupation of that country during WW2, but that doesn't excuse the Poles forcibly expelling upwards of 10 million people from lands they lived on for generations. It's estimated that around 2 million were killed (let alone the countless rapes and other acts of brutality that occurred) during these expulsions...again, AFTER the war was over and the killing was supposed to have stopped. What's that old yarn about two wrongs not making a right?

Besides, modern Germany is not the Nazi Germany of 1939. Unlike Poland, modern Germany has opened its borders to millions of poor refugees from war-ravaged and impoverished regions of the world. Poland's racist government only takes refugees in if they're White. All others need not apply. Modern Germany is also a haven for the LGTBQIA2S+ community, whereas Poland is assuredly and unequivocally not.

In all honesty, it sounds more like this clown is looking for a distraction, perhaps to try and mask his own abyssal failures, hence the picking of 80 year-old scabs. Hopefully, honest Poles won't allow themselves to be led down the garden path by this buffoon.
