During his tele-town hall last night, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) endorsed an "innovative" idea to address labor shortages: "coax" seniors to leave retirement and reenter the workforce so they can "earn a few extra bucks."

Of course this will happen if they get rid of Social Security.

They do not receive 100% of their salary for their pension. Only federal judges do. The max is 80% and is based on years federal office or government.

Johnson will only have 12 years qualifying him for $20,880 annually if he is defeated.

To receive $139,200 today he would need to be in office for another 62 years.

Are not happy they have to pay people $15 to work, especially in the rural areas where all the kids leave when they can. So, gotta put the old people to work so the MAGAT can order his Big Mac. I imagine Covid also caused people to retire early and/or retired people to decide not to work if they can avoid it. God only knows what the effects of Long Covid has had on those areas as well.

The state legislature actually loosened the child labor laws too.

I know there are specific disciplines desperate to hire, but that's not what Johnson is talking about.

Blamed for all ills of the alphabet-generations' woes (rightly for some), blamed for bringing sex, drugs, rocks, riots, and other rolling perversions out of the closet. Blamed for being too many, too stoned, too hard on the environment and retirement.
Accused of not giving up the job sooner so someone could replace the boomer.
Now sought for those jobs to which the younger have said "shove-it".
