No wonder we are where we are. People watching Law And Order and Press Your Luck as this country slides into fascism.

(12,328 posts)I love Bidens message. Everyone needs to hear how MAGA republicans are reprehensible.

(14,180 posts)It was termed as a major address, and when I saw it wasnt going to be a WH event with press I thought for sure the networks would cover it. Nope. ABC usually has the afternoon events, but it has Press Your Luck on tonight.
Broadcast media are definitely showing they are a part of the problem. Keeping people mindlessly entertained while the country burns. As I said, this is a consequential speech, giving a warning. It is not everyday POTUS speaks like this.
Just what would be important enough to merit their attention, I wonder?

(52,793 posts)On CNN the background colors look pink and the President looks pale.
On MSNBC it's much better.

(26,168 posts)was very reassuring. I was glad Pres Biden was quick to clarify that he was not painting all Repubs with the same brush - or he was in danger of turning off a lot of sane people we need to keep on friendly terms. He's doing a good job of going through this issues w/MAGAs. This is a tough call to make a speech about this.
He's named MAGAs as a clear and present danger to democracy - go, Joe!

A couple of times, he asked us to help. I took it to heart. I am vowing to myself to overcome my fear of confrontation. I'll remind myself, that --- I'm helping Joe!
