Question about the timing of Biden's speech

At this point, primaries are over and many of the sane Republicans lost to MAGAts. Would it have been better to do this speech earlier in the year? Or would it have galvanized the cult even further and we’d still be in this same place?

Although Biden appealed by name to sane Republicans, the real audience must have been the independents, the undecideds, the apathetic, the both-parties-are-the-same crowd.

Hopefully, his timing, two months before the election, was spot on and will help with GOTV. Too many Americans have a notoriously short attention span.

Thoughts?

Most people don’t pay attention before Labor Day
J6 hearings were earlier
Better economic news now
Don’t interfere with GOP primaries

He may well address the country again closer to the midterms.

Seriously, from a political calculus point of view. The GOP has locked in their fascist MAGA candidates. Now is the time to call them out and the threat they pose to our country

Biden's economy has actually helped many in the top tier of the economy, even while helping many at the bottom.

Corporate types don't generally like chaos, it's bad for business.

What the speech means to Republicans.

I'm focused on what the speech meant to me- the party base. Not a single Republican was swayed by that last night.

But Democratic Party Base members? Good! Lets get out there and bring the fuckers to heel until they admit Biden won the election.

They can agree with Biden and walk away from the man who stole state secrets or they can defend him still.

Most have taken a pass when presented with that option in the past. I think they many many reconsider their past decision and take the opportunity.

Why did Dems enable them by donating money to their primary campaigns? Didnt make any sense to me; what if they win?

I think that DOJ connected ALL the dots, not only where the classified docs ended up (TFG meetings in person with Orban, Moe Bone Saw, et. al.) BUT ALSO, who did what in the fake elector plot, the inside jobs in the house of representatives, Capitol Police and National Guard restraints,
"The Willard"

and the "Pipe Bomber"
So, there are no loose ends.

MAGAs are gone anyway. We need to motivate base and Indies to rally against the MAGA candidates in the general.
