One of the most consistent tactics of Trump's has been to blatantly lie to the media while not repeating those lies in court, where lying has serious consequences.
You can know the "he declassified" claim is a lie because it's never been said in court. Trump is self-debunking.

It's The Big Lie 2.0
Just remember the 60+ election lawsuits that didn't allege fraud, whilst all the media covered was them showing that fraud was the only reason Biden won.
There has been ZERO mention of declassification in any of the letters to or from NARA. There has been ZERO mention of declassification in any court filings.

(1,901 posts)Even if declassified, he cannot take or keep them.
Furthermore, I saw a cultist on Twitter said he could stand on his head, fart and say its declassified and it is.

(22,056 posts)None of those laws require that documents or information have a security classification. Whether the documents are Confidential, Secret, Top Secret of Top Secret/SCI is irrelevant. If Trump had them and didn't turn them over, he's toast.
The DOJ attorneys have been very smart and shrewd in how they've handled Trump's criminality. Since Trump has stupid lawyers, the DOJ is 3-4 steps ahead of them and they don't really have anything to defend their client. Their only hope is that if a trial ever happens, they'll get a Trump supporter on the jury to hang it resulting in a mistrial.
It's very possible that some of Trump's lawyers will end up on the wrong side in courtrooms.

(7,455 posts)There are these stamps to indicate the status of printed documents: approved, rejected, superseded, sensitive, non-disclosure details, etc. This would be the bare minimum system common in non-mission critical applications. Boxes don't get stamped, each and every document gets stamped. For documents pertinent to national security, the controls would be even tighter.
I've seen no mention of declassified markings on these seized documents. Where is the MSM on this obvious irregularity?
