He must go all in on getting trump prosecuted to save his own ass.

(20,868 posts)shithead establishment figure who no longer sees a use for this buffoon, and further, sees the inherent danger to the GOP if they don't get him off the stage. So he's doing the work the elected cowards are afraid to do.

(8,084 posts)He doesn't run for office, all the jobs hes ever received hes been appointed to nobody ever elects him.
He can say whatever he wants and he does have credibility in the Republican party so some republicans may listen

Hopefully, more will follow.

Maybe we can get Colin Powell to sway everyone like he did in 2001 with his fake antique weed killer spreader. He certainly convinced many that it was a WMD.........
There would be a very long list of Republican's that have sold the nation out for their own enrichment. Financially or Politically...

(823 posts)bring their cases to SC, so this would go to the SC and take a year or more? Guess how the SC will decide?
They will probably use some 16th century law and cite some other monarch-backing law to support the dotard in his treason. Also giving the Presidency more powers.
If they didn't appear immediately this morning, I doubt they will, and perhaps see trying to comply as the lesser of two evils.

(141,974 posts)Just like when Liz Cheney told Gym Jordan that this was all his fault - Barr-Barr-Hut is equally responsible - and no matter what he does that could possibly speed up the indictment of IQ45, he too needs to pay a price for his failures as our "NATIONAL ATTORNEY!"

They can shout all they want; we will remember them as what they were. Not in the mood lately for second chances.

(17,802 posts)I saw on a legal review site that it isn't straightforward that the doj will appeal all or part of the ruling.
Their options are on the appeal side to try to get a change of venue based on jurisdiction claims, appeal a narrow segment, or attack it all. But they run the risk the appeals court will side with judge qudy. Then it could become precedent rather than one judge one court.
Or they could just let it go and try to get trump with what they have. If the master or judge qudy tries to return govt docs to him, they can appeal that. But they could still prosecute.
A normal doj would challenge it aggressively. This doj?

(8,103 posts)Don't appeal, take your chances.
Appeal to 11th Circuit, take your chances.
I think they have no choice but to appeal. The decision is atrocious at all levels of understanding. She ignored most of the standing law, and allowing her to affect the concept of Executive Privilege in this context just can't be accepted. As much as it is painful to us, they should appeal. Then we can put off selecting a SM for her to pick from. I don't think that will go so well.
