Now the match is going more the way I thought it would, but I did figure Tiafoe would be putting up a bit more of a fight than he is. Carlos started pretty flat and now he's playing at the level I'd expect.

If the US Open ever fucks him over by having him play that late again--especially consecutive matches--he should complain. In fact, he should quietly complain at the end of the tournament no matter who wins. I don't care if he's 19 blah blah blah, it's disrespectful to the player and maybe just as importantly it's disrespectful to the audience. I live on the west coast, so me staying up until midnight to catch a match is nothing, but how can you reasonably expect fans on the east coast to stay up until 3?

I was just hoping that Tiafoe would be able to carry on to the finals since he was the one who took down my favorite, Rafa.

Both Alcarez and Tiafoe are great and either deserved the win. And Alcarez is absolutely a phenom. His time at Nadal’s tennis academy is obviously paying off!!!!
