That more than anything else -- including the peculiarity of the golf shoes. The weather in the DMV was pretty wet yesterday and he arrived in the evening. I could see him going to his golf course for meetings, but that is about it.

No telling what kind of goods they got on him during their search warrant. Got to wonder if they found things so embarrassing that there's no way in hell he'd make a scene about being arrested. Either that, or they negotiated that if he didn't put on a victim show, they'd lessen his charges. It'll probably turn out to be a big nothingburger, but the fact that he's still in golf gear, and sneaking into town unannounced, is odd. If he was headed to Walter Reed, we'd hear about it. Even if it was some embarrassing condition, he'd lie about it to exploit it for sympathy. I wouldn't put it past him to do this as a "Look! Squirrel!!!" stunt. We're all distracted by this shit, while god knows what else is going on.
