Schumer should be retiring before too long maybe she’ll make it to the Senate. That was a great speech. Worthy of Teddy Kennedy

Just like the only time states rights are invoked is to hurt people. I don’t see any 10th Amendment mouth breathers pushing back against a proposed national abortion ban.

Sadly, in this country, religion is used primarily as a tool of oppression to further the patriarchy and male supremacy. The very framing of the major monotheisms are very anti-women -- all the major characters in the Mesopotamia-originated mythologies that still have widespread cultural acceptance are male (Yahweh/God/Allah, Jesus, Mohammad, Moses, etc.), and women are depicted as lessers, not worthy of power in any church or in any part of society. When people talk about wanting "religious freedom" it's almost always a code for wanting to continue to oppress women (and gay people) without paying any consequences.
