In the Senate race, Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson was at 49% among likely voters, compared with his challenger, Democratic Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, who was at 48%.
Johnson made up a lot of ground after the August primary, as independent voters shifted from a strong Barnes advantage in August to a narrow lead for Johnson in the September survey.
In the run for governor, Evers held a narrow advantage over Republican businessman Tim Michels.
Evers was at 47% among likely voters while Michels was at 44%. Independent Joan Beglinger, who has dropped out of the race, was at 5%.

(3,210 posts)...western WI in particular. You can drive through and see miles of farm fields with crappy hand-painted signs festooned with thought-terminating clichés that date to the Bircher era. A lot of the upper Midwest is like that. Even ultra-blue states like MN have some real chud country. Michelle Bachmann had an unbelievably gerrymandered district that had this dog-leg appendage which looked like it skipped from side to side of a street, house by house. And an unfortunate number of these people vote.

(9,990 posts)If he had never been contacted for a specific public opinion poll, the results of said poll would likely be valid. The population sample size and demographic representation are important. The manner of questioning as well, as "push polls" and those with objective questions can yield vastly different results.
