Is Desantis and Abbott using this busing immigrants stunt to redirect attention,
Away from the abortion issues, and away from all TFG's, and their acts of corruption, and criminal investigations? When they lose control of the narrative they want, they always do something to change it, and the media helps them. They know abortion issues are destroying their chances this coming midterms of getting control in either the House , or Senate. TFG has used this tactic many, many times .

1. This stuff works with moderate repubs and independents
It’s really horrible
They know what they are doing and will keep doing it because it works |

5. Sure hope you're right on that.
Especially for Abbott, but both are corrupt, and bad people.

6. I don't know how this is playing in TX,
but DeSatan better watch his back. There is a large Venezuelan community in FL who could swing a close election.

4. It's a campaign stunt
In South Texas (border region) the busing of migrants to other states is probably popular with Latinos that Abbott is trying to court.
They probably aren't too crazy about "sticking it to the libs", but the area has been overrun with migrants, so they are pleased that they're going somewhere else. It turns out that I was about a block away from that Migrant Center in San Antonio last week, however I had no idea that such a place existed in that location. Anyway, I was kinda surprised by all the homeless people. I was like, "I guess they're right we really do have a bad homeless problem..."...It turns out they were migrants. Additionally, one guy came up to my vehicle and was aggressive enough that it made me leave the area. I go to some rough parts of town, but this guy was a bit different. FWIW If there are that many homeless migrants and stuff like along the border, I can see how it locals could be a bit fed up, but who knows. I don't go down there. |

7. It's a successful tactic on several fronts
Redirects attention away from abortion.
Draws attention to a legitimate problem in Texas. We've been ignoring the impact of mass immigration from central and south America on border regions because the Pubs have been racist assholes about it. Even if the Pubs handling and preferred approach is wrong, it doesn't mean its not a real problem. Puts us on the defensive while firing up their base. Makes us look like hypocrites. I can see a kind of parallel to the domestic manufacturing arguments of a decade ago. Pubs were beating their nationalist drum, we were saying manufacturing wouldn't and couldn't come back. There is the quote from President Obama that was used to skewer us: “(The) hard truth is that some of the jobs that have been lost in the auto industry and elsewhere won’t be coming back.” The Pubs general idea - fostering domestic manufacturing - was the right idea, they were just going about it wrong. We weren't willing to entertain the notion for far too long because the Pubs wanted it. Undocumented immigration is similar in my mind. It needs to be brought under control and funneled through legal channels, and this starts with tightening the border. Not by some big useless wall, but with technology and trained compassionate manpower. |

8. I can't believe they're working in concert.
Two men who respectively spend their free time doodling "President Greg Abbott" and "President Ron DeSantis"? More likely a competition.
And I'm really curious to know what Abbott thinks about a rival sneaking into his state and stealing some of his stunt props in an even more outrageous and headline-grabbing version of his stunt. |

10. They're both running for governor
I really don't think Abbott will run for president.
I think it's posturing. |
