We can only hope Garland understands the importance of demonstrating that no one, including former presidents, is above the law.

I mean, a president is not a king. It’s an important job of the highest public trust. To betray that trust, violate a sacred oath, and commit multiple felonies in the process needs to be punished.

If they let him off, instead of having one group of crazies, Garland would be creating another, and with the rule of law rendered meaningless I don’t want to imagine the consequences for our democracy and the respect for our important governmental institutions.
