(19,118 posts)Only Trump could ruin the GOP's 2022 chances when he's not even on the ballot. With inflation high and the economy being a worry, it's unthinkable that the midterms wouldn't be a bloodbath for the party in power. Yet here we are with the Dems strongly favored to hold the 50-50 Senate and maybe even pick up a seat or two, and now have a roughly 1 in 3 change to hold the House and rising. That's Trump, and only Trump.

Why people don't realize that the economic issues we have today are not the effect of a previous incompetent and malignant administration? And it is laughable that one week into trump's stunt as president they were already giving praise to him about the economy when he had nothing to do with it, and one he took care of destroying. Why is it that the USA voter is so ignorant? In part of course is the f^*&^ media, in part is the design republicans put together many years ago to screw up our education system and produce ignorant people who can easily be manipulated.
I believe it was Kurt Vonnegut who said "the Nazis will become popular due to their military outfits", and we we think about it, yes their outfits were really good, even bikers were using Nazi helmets many years after the war, and many didn't know what the helmets represented...that is what ignorance does, and I guess we are lucky that the GOP does not have a good uniform designer?

(19,118 posts)Dems need to do a better job on messaging. Two words really, "global inflation." Inflation is a global issue and the US is dealing with it much better than most economically developed countries.
I see ads from Republicans that Dem spending led to this inflation problem, I always think to myself, "Really? Dem spending in the US led to inflation in Europe and Asia?"

(63,225 posts)Republikkkans have been attacking Biden as "feeble" since before he took office, but somehow this "feeble" man is still mighty enough to control gas prices and financial markets worldwide?
You're dead-on about messaging, and Dems are absolutely terrible at it. Repugs put out a soundbyte that the media dutifully repeats 120 times an hour, while Democrats give lengthy, unquotable responses for which the media then gives vague and flaccid summaries.

(3,403 posts)economy to the buffoon on his 1st week of the administration, as if anyone can turn around a country's economy in one week, forgetting the mess that Obama inherited from GW and the work it took to bring it back to what the buffoon inherited.
Like you said, Dems must become much better at messaging, not only about the good they do but about the rotten things republicans do on a daily basis.

(3,403 posts)something that we, as a nation, need to prepare for. I won't say that we should fear because fear makes people inactive. What we all need to do is prepare, what the administration needs to do is be ready to act in seconds against a possible "Insurrection 2.0" because we all know there are still a lot of stupid people out there who not only believe what the buffoon spews during his rallies, but are salivating at the chance to use their weapons to kill their USA brothers and sisters who do not agree politically with them, and these idiots will try again, they do believe in the cause and do not realize they are being used as pawns by the very corrupt republican party.

(16,541 posts)My favorite is this one of Senator McTurtle staring at Trump with an incredible mixture of disgust and loathing etched into his reptilian features. You know the expression "If looks could kill..."? This is one of the most murderous expressions I've ever seen on any person's face ever. Anybody who is the least bit skeptical about how much Mitch utterly detests Trump needs to have a look at this pic.

(8,827 posts)But heard a blip on SMS, and trump said we all bow to God. If any of those idiots, wait, fuck it, they do believe trump is on his knees every evening praying to God for Guidance, (and money if he truly believed even the warped God they created), THEY are waaaaaay beyond stupid. Not a word strong enough to state how stupid they are, BIGLY!!! He has said he never asked forgiveness from God, he has never done anything wrong. And they believe it.

(8,827 posts)I was Not targeting the post and the thread. I just meant I will never listen to his rallies on other medias. And I just heard him make the we love God comment. I am not bashing the post, just adding the quote to accompany the picture. Just hearing that comment on Stephanie Miller made me gag.
