4. Nuclear deal?

Not being talked about as much here, but on 60 minutes last night, after they aired the Biden interview, they aired an interview with the President of Iran. The key sticking point on a new nuclear deal is because of Trump, the US can't offer guarantees we'll stay in the deal and keep our commitments.

Trump tearing up treaties like he did will negatively impact the US's credibility for decades. I don't know what Biden could do to guarantee to Iran we won't do the same again.

5. Such treaties need to go through Congress so they are not easily overturned.

Of course, that means no treaties because Republicans don’t care if Iran makes nuclear weapons so long as they can obstruct a Democratic president. They haven’t considered the good of the country for decades. Now a thoroughly despicable party, and other world leaders are right to withhold judgment because if Trump or one of his mini-me candidates get appointed (i.e., crooked election in red states) to the White House in 2024, their willingness to trust the US will disappear in a heartbeat.
