So the Slobfather's supposed repairs in Puerto Rico after Maria

Last edited Mon Sep 19, 2022, 07:24 PM - Edit history (2)

are collapsing. The chickens are coming home to roost.
Everything he touches turns to shit.
1.4 million have no power and only 30% have running water. Bridges supposedly repaired after Maria have collapsed.
Remember now that this is a Cat1 hurricane but with 30 inches of rain.

but I distinctly remember a no bid repair contract being given to some rinky dink firm out of Colorado with zero track record dealing with repairs of that magnitude.

I had to go poking around a bit, but I did find one article that raised a journalist eyebrow back in October 2017

Small company awarded big Puerto Rico contract has ties to Trump administration

*Introductory snippage*

The government power company -- known as PREPA -- signed the contract with Whitefish Energy, a two-person, two-year-old company whose largest previous federal contract had been for $1.3 million to upgrade lines in Arizona.

The $300 million contract is the biggest yet for Puerto Rico's recovery effort -- and for Whitefish, which relies on subcontractors for their work.

* * *

And its ties to the administration are under scrutiny. Whitefish is backed by HBC Investments. That firm's founder and general partner Joe Colonnetta gave $33,000 to the campaign of then-Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who is now Energy secretary. Colonnetta and his wife gave $28,200 to President Trump.
