How widespread is methamphetimine use in the US?

I lead a kinda isolated life, but do live amongst a lot of people, so I’m just curious what anecdotal or verified information there is on this.

Honestly I wonder if it is a contributing factor in the political/base crazy tendencies in our country. 🤷🏻?♂️

From sad tales of acquaintances, it may not tend to be a one-time try, often to the contrary

I don’t have the statistics on hand but you’d be shocked how many people dabbled back then.

We're probably not all that representative though.
In the 80s & 90s I was playing in a couple of fairly prominent rock acts.
So, we were surrounded by musicians & club goers that thought little of staying out until 4 in the morning.
We often had our NYE party on the 1st, since we were working. There'd be 30 or 40 people there along with 3 ounces of blow.
It was very common.

to about 1988. Their was alot of it and barely stepped on or cut in the Pittsburgh Pa./Upper Ohio Valley area back when I was in the bar scene. I can attest to that personally, then I wised up but alot of people I knew didn't. Many had a very hard time getting off of it but we never even heard of Fentayl or anything beside Baby Laxative being used to cut it with. Alot of money was wasted on it during those years when I look back on it now. Now I worry about my 6 year old Son and what will be going around in this area 12 or 15 years from now when I may no longer be around to guide him.
