work on a list of what isn't illegal but a 250 year tradition or not spelled out specifically.

We need a new law - trump law - that covers every single squirrelly thing he's done.

Unless he can point to a paper trail that says he followed the procedure, they're still classified and he's what we always knew he was, a fucking conman and cheap crook.

what he declassified because he did not declassify anything.

If at this point, he claims that he did but it can be established that he did not, then he is guilty of perjury.

But, if he uses it as a defense at a trial if he is indicted, then it would be either a failed or a successful defence case but not perjury.

Wouldn't he have to prove that he declassified them?

Not to mention, that's absolutely no defense for having documents in his possession that don't belong to him. Whether those documents are declassified or not, they are the property of the USA, not DJT, and they belong in the National Archives, not in a desk drawer at some Florida beach club!

He might hope that, claiming that they were declassified lessens any charges. Much less serious to have declassified documents at his home than classified ones.

But, it looks like his idea is that, once he declassified them, they became "general" documents that he was entitled to take with him. That interpretation of his intent about the declassified documents claim is not mine. I got it from the Midas Touch.

It's just the usual Trump obfuscation, delay, and gaslighting.

I believe that a complete investigation will turn up solid evidence that Trump gave highly classified documents to nations like Russia and Saudi Arabia.

In his mind, he is omnipotent - if he says he declassified documents, that’s it.
He answers to no lesser mortals, no judge, no one.
And that is the behavior of a fucking lunatic aka the Slobfather.

I think it’s still unlikely Trump will be indicted, I think if he is indicted it will take forever to seat a jury, I think if they do get a jury there’s no way they can get one that doesn’t have a Trumper on it, I think Judge after judge will interfere to try and protect him and the ultimate decision will be the Supreme Court and they will overturn any conviction.

So instead, he's cheating. Forcing a compromised local judge to intervene in another court's matter, slowing down the process, sabotaging the process, undermining justice with the smug arrogance of an elitist. He is morally contemptible but he's fighting a very different battle than his maga army. They think he's owning the libs. He thinks he's owning us all.
