HAPPENING NOW: I have dialed in to Judge Dearie's courtroom, and apparently the system has left every single caller unmuted -- so it sounds roughly like midtown at rush hour, but with the added benefit of dozens of people screaming at each other to shut up.

I predicted yesterday that the system would collapse. This is worse. :) Hermit-The-Prog Sep 2022 #1

Hollyweird directors always have barking, crying, ringing phones, and sometimes horns honking when they want to increase tension.

I could not get onto the call in for the special hearing and evidently the people who were on the call were not muted. One person wat at the hearing and here is their report

https://www.politico.com/news/2022/09/20/trump-special-master-judge-mar-a-lago-00057805

NEW YORK — The senior federal judge tasked with reviewing the materials seized by the FBI from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate sharply questioned the former president’s attorneys Tuesday during their first hearing before his courtroom.

Judge Raymond Dearie pushed Trump’s lawyers repeatedly for refusing to back up the former president’s claim that he declassified the highly sensitive national security-related records discovered in his residence.

“You can’t have your cake and eat it too,” said Dearie, the “special master” picked by U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon to vet Trump’s effort to reclaim the materials taken by federal investigators.

Trump has argued that the 11,000 documents taken from Mar-a-Lago were rightfully in his possession, including about 100 bearing classification markings that suggest they contain some of the nation’s most closely guarded intelligence.

Some of the early meeting software depended on individuals muting themselves. No it did not go well which is why most organizations got rid of that shit asap.

OS/2 computers with WordPerfect? There’s probably some Stone Age precursor to Skype in their arsenal as well.

were usually using Cisco products (like WebEx) although we had a few offices using Adobe Connect. Some also might have a contract with some audio conferencing service that is managed by that service's host/operator who is supposed to monitor and troubleshoot any issues with the lines, and who usually do a global mute of audio dial-ins.

Now with Zoom out there, some might have been testing/trying that too although I haven't bothered to check if it was on GSA schedule.

Before I retired, I think DOJ was still using WordPerfect for their docket templates (although nowadays it's owed by Corel).
