FLORIDA, USA Public records showed the state of Florida made another payment to the aviation company that flew migrants last week from Texas to Martha's Vineyard.
Tuesday afternoon, a flight departing from San Antonio, Texas was originally intended to land in President Biden's home state of Delaware.
State leaders in Delaware started preparing a response but the plane instead landed in New Jersey.
MYSTERY FLIGHT
The mystery continues surrounding who was on the flight, where it was going, and what eventually happened after it landed in Teterboro, New Jersey.
One thing we do know is the state paid $950,000 to Vertol Systems Company Inc., the same transportation company the state paid $615,000 to last week. However, Tuesday in Bradenton, Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis would not confirm if the money was for another migrant flight.
10 Tampa Bay has asked the state what the payment went toward and requested the contract with Vertol Systems.

(54,436 posts)Money laundering involves taking dirty money, like drug profits, e.g., and making it nice, clean, and openly spendable. What DeSade is doing is taking Florida taxpayer money and deliberately vastly overpaying a Russian-connected company out of Oregon to make flights that in no way whatsoever render any service to the people or the state of Florida. Conducting the flights listed do not cost a tenth of what the government of Florida paid to have them flown. The Oregon company will vastly inflate their expenses incurred to operate the flights, pay the going corporate tax rate on what is left over, and then kick back, with perfectly legal money, whatever agreed-upon sums to the previously-designated recipients. I hear that Rubio's campaign to re-elect him to the Senate was in desperate need of a cash infusion, for example.

(1,654 posts)Someone here on DU said it would be a lot cheaper to fly them. Probably someone reported this to DeSantis and someone said, depends on what airline and this. Somebody's making a lot of money.

(9,670 posts)They no longer view government's role as one of governing, rather, it's devolved into political theater with the librul being the antagonist. Owning the libs for a million dollars? That's a deal!
Sick. The mental conditioning of the American electorate by the right wing media over the past 3 or 4 decades has led to this.
