"Where I come from, my word is my bond"

I think this straightforward, honest ethos--despite everything nasty they also stand for--is still really important in rural conservative circles. My stepmother-in-law was a Trump supporter but would rather have died than break a promise. If she signed her name to something, it was true. In her mind, this was a core conservative value. (Never mind that it's a liberal one, too.)

Trump signed his name to the valuations used to get loans and insurance and he signed his name to his tax returns.

I think this could be the critical last straw for many GOP "my word is my bond" conservatives, if Democrats present this correctly.

For the ones that have not been MAGA-tized.

But he also swore to uphold the Constitution. That hasn't seemed to bother them much.

The truth bombs need to keep coming.
