Not that Trumpy ever had a stellar reputation in any other mind but his own!

Love them or hate them, the rich in Palm Beach actually do some good with all their charitable giving, and most can not stand Donald Trumpy. Marjorie Merriweather Post (the original builder/owner of Mar-a-Lago) gave more to charity in 2 seasons than Trumpy has given in his whole useless lifetime.

That estate has a long history that was utterly sullied when Trumpy bought the place. Post willed the property to the the US Government for the use of Presidents and dignitaries, though it was never used for that purpose.

Fortunate Son

Some folks are born silver spoon in hand
Lord, don't they help themselves, Lord?
But when the taxman come to the door
Lord, the house lookin' like a rummage sale, yeah
It ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no millionaire's son, no, no
It ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no fortunate one, no

His mother, the daughter of Portuguese immigrants, got a letter from Portugal one day, notifying her that she had inherited a property out there.

After hesitating for a while, she received another letter - this time from the people who lived in said property as tenants.

"We have lived here for many years," they begged her, "and the only way we'd be able to stay, per Portuguese law, is if you cede it to us."

They enclosed a photo, with the downtrodden family gathered in front of a ramshackle little shack - not unlike the one in the photo above, but with a red tile roof.

So she immediately agreed to their request, and signed the enclosed document.

She only told her son (my friend, a vet), after the fact - and he immediately smelled a rat.

He flew out there, drove to the address, not far from Lisbon - and sure enough: there was the shack.

With a big, vintage neo-Renaissance mansion behind it.

The Portuguese Trumps, if you will.
